The Safe Recovery Program at the HowardCenter in Burlington seeks to reduce drug-related harm among those who use opiates or other injectable drugs – including HIV and Hepatitis C transmission and drug overdose. Safe Recovery offers free HIV and Hepatitis C testing, access to safe injection supplies and disposal of used supplies, case management, counseling and outreach.
The Gay & Lesbian Fund of Vermont recently awarded the program funds to help them in their efforts.
