I give my time to Out for Good because it lets a fun group of volunteers make a difference in many ways at the same time. We can help build a house for our neighbors, and show a community that LGBTQ people are committed, engaged, hard-working citizens with senses of humor and flair with a circular saw! What more could you ask for…? I’ve laughed while hammering, and installed someone’s windows while catching up with good friends. You can think of it as fun with a purpose.

Out for Good is a program of the Gay & Lesbian Fund of VT that
coordinates the valuable time that LGBTQIA Vermonters donate to
the causes they support. Just as the Fund works to make our monetary
contributions count twice, so Out for Good does with our volunteer
time and efforts. By donating our time together, we show that members
of our community care about many of the same causes as our neighbors.
Further, it makes others aware of how much work we do to foster
improvements in all our lives. We can all have fun together while
making the world at large aware of the positive difference we make.
When the time we give is organized through Out for Good, specific
attention is drawn to the value of LGBTQIA people in our society.
