Contributions by Credit Card

The Gay & Lesbian Fund of Vermont is happy to accept contributions via credit card through our web site. To make this service available, we have partnered with Network for Good. Network for Good is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2001 by the Time Warner Foundation and AOL, Inc.; the Cisco Foundation and Cisco Systems, Inc.; and Yahoo! Inc. How to make a contribution via credit card using Network for Good:

Click the 'Donate Now' button. You will be redirected to the Network for Good website with the Gay & Lesbian Fund of Vermont pre-selected as the receiving organization. Complete the information on the Network for Good website. NOTE: If you wish us to direct your gift to a specific non-profit you MUST complete the optional 'designation' field on the Network for Good form AND you must select the option that permits Network for Good to share your name and email address with us.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL DETAILS TO NOTE WHEN USING A CREDIT CARD:

• The entire amount you give via Network for Good is tax-deductible. However, Network for Good deducts a 4.75% fee for every transaction made. The Gay & Lesbian Fund will receive 4.75% less than the amount you enter unless you take advantage of an option Network for Good provides of 'adding' the processing fee to your transaction. (You will see this option as part of the process.) Because the Gay & Lesbian Fund cannot afford to absorb these additional fees, we will pass on to your intended non-profit recipient ONLY the amount we receive from Network for Good. Your credit card gift will continue to be subject to our $5 fee per gift transaction. (Remember: A $50 donation to the Fund waives the $5 fee on ALL transactions in a calendar year.)
  Example: A credit card gift of $100 made through Network for Good will be levied a 4.75% transaction fee. Unless you take advantage of the option to add the processing fee to your transaction, the GLFund will receive $95.25. If your gift is directed to only a single non-profit, we will deduct a single $5 transaction fee. $90.25 will be directed to your intended charity.
  
• Your credit card statement will list Network for Good instead of the individual charities you donated to because your donations are being processed by the Network for Good Giving System.
  
• As your single gift will have been acknowledged in some form by Network for Good, the Gay & Lesbian Fund and possibly the organization that ultimately receives the contribution as well, you will want to be sure to deduct this money only once on your taxes.
