The Institute for Humane Education of Surry, Maine was recently awarded a first-time grant from the donors of the Gay & Lesbian Fund of Vermont. Humane education is dedicated to instilling in young people the capacity to live with “compassion, integrity, and wisdom,” and giving them the tools to put those values into action.
